So I'm behind on TV shows!

So a lot of the shows I fall in love with is after the series is over or because of school I have to watch online. Having a sleep over with a girlfriend ignited my obsession with Queer as Folk. I still haven't seen every season! But my obsession was namely because of this HOT character Emmett has sex with at the end of season 4. It's this pro-football player that is not gay just "likes to have sex with men!" Emmett ends the relationship because the guy is engaged to a women and won't come out and Emmett decides he doesn't want to be with a guy or in a relationship like that were he's only used for sex. The character ends of coming back in season 5 and I couldn't have been more excited.....except I quickly wasn't! There were so many hot sex scenes between these two in season 4 but in season 5 there was nothing!! They only showed the character, Drew Boyd with his shirt off as Emmett and Drew were getting ready to have sex. OMG! Now, why would it be that they went from showing all these hot sex scenes to showing nothing between them about a year later? Plus, I hate how the relationship ends after Drew comes out as a gay pro football player (which is my dream husband!!) He comes out and everyone is shocked cause how could this hot "man's man" be gay! They went out for a drink after Drew won the game for his team and Emmett sees him kissing another guy. You know, how typical. Yes, Drew just came out and is completely new to the gay scene but then they leave me wanting to know if they will ever get together years later. So, by now I'm in love with this actor and I look up a biography......in the bio on this guys website he doesn't even mention that he was on such a popular show. Queer as Folk is huge and didn't even mention being in the show, what the hell is that about? I really looked up to this actor cause I loved his character and meeting gay athletes is my dream! ;)
So come on, be proud of the character you played and your part in the shows popularity and include it in you bio. Right? Plus another thing is that in the shows finale it didn't make it clear what would end up happening with Emmett and Ted. Would Emmett and Drew ever get together years later like I dream they do??? Damn it, I wanna know!

Night Kitchen

What a great performance my modern dance class had last night. Someone even said it was the best screaming I've done! After one of the busiest days I've had in a while and posting all the things I had to do yesterday my dad even agreed that I should reward myself with a night out of dancing. Well, it happened! And as par, it was fun, crazy and very memorable. I had to study for a test, run to Target to get more prepaid minutes for my phone, get backstage for call time, go to Internship class, dress reahearsal, test and then the Night Kitchen performance. The video of the performance should follow this blog in about a week. I can not wait till this time next week when this crazy semester from hell will be over. I wonder what my GPA will look like once I get my grades for this semester. I had a 3.6 which I don't think I've ever had! To solve a lot of the problems I've had this semester I need to invest in a planner. ;)

Galen is a more common name then you would think!

Cute story from work......while I was talking to Danni I could here someone calling my name but I couldn't figure out who. When Danni and I were done I noticed it was a mother and she was calling for her son, Galen! I love to meet and see other people with my name but that also means that more then me do exist.....so then am I not as special and unique as I've assumed lol! So great to meet this mother too because she named her son Galen after Galen Rowell, a famous artist. Who not only share's my name but has my grandmother's maiden name......scary. I've gotta ask my dad if we could be related since my dad is such a family history buff that could find records of our ancestors all the way back to the Mayflower. Yes, the Mayflower with the pilgrims on it!!! =)

I got used

Well, I've lived in LA now for 7 years. The longest I've lived anywhere. And over the years I've learned as a true Angeleno to be cautious and careful. But look at this picture closely. What a seducer. For a series of unfortunate cicumstances I was kicked out of a club. Only an hour before I had met this sweet guy who felt bad that I couldn't hangout with my friends in the VIP area. So, he took me to dance. As we went, he grabbed for my hand! I thought, excuse me, why are you taking hold of my hand. Well, soon after that we both got kicked out. He told me he lived in San Diego and couldn't drive home that night and asked me if he could sleep at my place. Well, a red flag went up immediatly. No matter how much people say they won't judge me for the place I live against my better judgement I felt bad for him. I was nothing but nice, sweet, polite but also scared cause we would have to spend the night together in my......twin bed!!!! Another bad thing was that we couldn't find parking so almost guarenting that he would get a parking ticket. Once we were in my apartment he said it was "cute!" Then he said we should put in a movie. I thought is this seriously happening??? We were having suck a good time. Joking, laughing, talking and the more I looked the more I was really becoming attracted to him and I usually stick to a strict white men only attraction. Out of a fairly nice size of collection of DVD's to choose from he chose, "A Single Man," by my favorite designer and male business man Tom Ford. Well, I stuck it in the DVD player and then he said, "Well, let's get naked." I said, "We have to get naked?" A little later, he was asleep cause it is a slowly paced movie but I would wake him up in certain parts. Then in the morning he wanted to jerk off together but he got a "headache!" Then he wanted to go to breakfast. I've never gone to breakfast, especially in Skid Row lol!!! I wanted to make sure his car was still there. He did get a ticket but right beside his car was a cafe I had never seen before. We talked more and more as we picked at some of the food cause it was terrible. Then since we were right there and I had never been, I took us both into the Flower Market. I mean I live kitty corner from it and have never been so I wanted to go and show him. I brought hydrangas and he brough a white orchid with a funny pot that he was so drawn to lol! Then we said goodbye and I asked for his cell. Later that day I texted him to see if he had gotten back to SD safely. It took a while but he finally replied. Ever since.......nothing!!!! I'm so mad. I was seduced and used just for a place to sleep. The worst part, he's everything I want a man to be. Good looking, tall, nice shape, funny, dorky, a fireman and policeman. Everything I've ever been hoping to find but turns out......he's a jerk! I can't believe it! Memorize this face lol. From now on I promise my friends I will not talk about this man anymore cause I know to my closest friends I've been talking about this for a while..........to James and Jen, I'm sorry. Just promise to help my find someone that is just like him but a better person. ;)

Who says I'm boring!??!

Well...I do sometimes. So, on Friday night I decided that I wanted to go to Mickey's to dance (and bump into men that haven't called me back!). I didn't want to go alone though so I posted on facebook that I was gonna go to Mickey's to dance and told my friend Jen that we should go dancing. We both don't have cars so long story short we decided to go to the Edison. So glad we did cause it was so fun! We heard there was going to be a DJ and dancing so it fit what we needed and closer then Weho to both of us. The Edison (www.edisondowntown.com) is the most beautiful sophisticated bar I have ever been to, seriously. It's styled like an old speakeasy but I don't know if speakeasy's were that big!?! Jen got a two dirty martini's and said that it was well priced and not expensive like I was assuming it would be. It was awesome and to add excitement to the story as we were going down the staircase a guy stopped me and was like, "Hey Marshall...Marshall.....Marshall!" I said, "No, my name's Galen!" ;) And then later as Jen and I were hanging out at the bar after she got her second dirty martini I was dancing and spun around and when I finished there was this guy a little bit away from us at the bar too and he was pointing to this guy infront of him and trying to look like he didn't the guy to know he was pointing at him. From then on the rest of the night I wanted just to go up to them and in a nice humorious way ask, "what was that" or "what did that mean." It could have been just a st8t guy joke. The men at the bar were...."very nice" as Borack would say! Lots of them were in shiny grey suits (yum) or looked like blond frat boys! ;) "Very, very nice!" LOL The Edison had come highly recommended by my hairstylist and good gym buddy Mark...SO glad I finally went there and Jen and I well be back hopefully sooner then later so I won't call myself boring! Boring I am not cause I've had the dancing bug all weekend so last night I wanted to go to another dance in Burbank at the Marriott. I don't drive and don't have a lot of friends that have cars so after I took a nap after work I got up and got ready and found a bus that would take me there. The dance started at 11:30 and I got to the stop at 11. The flyer said, "11:30 to ...." so I figured 2ish when the bars close. Boy was I wrong. I got to the hotel at 1 when the dance ended. Asked for some help from the concierge and then walked in a huge square till 2:30 and then sat at the original bus stop until 5:41....when the firstsame bus would make it's first return trip so I could get home and go to bed! Who says I'm boring?!! I had a great time though after being extrememly pissed. I was given an Los Angeles tourist guide called Where Los Angeles. I read it from cover to cover and reminded of why I love living in LA even though I haven't been to mostly all the places it recommmended but that's why I love living here so that eventually I will! It was a lot of good time spent alone by myself and hope that taking some Television classes this fall at LACC will lead me to what "I" really want to do during my life. The good thing about last night is that I eventually decided to quit being pissed off and remain happy through all of what happened. And no matter the crazy story I have of how I came to be living in LA, I'm glad I'm here cause I don't know of anywhere that could compare as much as my (current) hometown of Los Angeles.

P.S. looks like a bus had some bad timing this morning like I had last night. And my cousin's husband said I should try clicking my heels three times and well you know the rest! An hour later...I was home! =) Their my favorite shoes that have a huge hole on the sole of my right foot! (Just like Harvey Milk).

I'm a Winner!

Last Sunday I was in my first figure skating competition, and I won! I've done skating shows when I was a teenager in Sioux Falls. The nerves were about the same but this time I didn't have to pee every five minutes. After my GoldLine train brokedown because of electricity on the way to the competition I thought I would only do one performance. But since my coach was also in charge of the competition he put me in the next warmup group and I ended up doing both. I didn't have enough time either to remember to ask anyone to record my performances on my Blackberry. Kinda glad cause I fell once in both performances! =( But since I was the only one competiting in my group I still got first place for both performances! Oy....lol! The weekend before that I volunteered at a GLAAD Fundraiser called TGIF, sponsered by Absolut Vodka. I've volunteered at a lot of these TGIF events but this was the best one I've been to so far. The fundraiser was held at Rockwell. It's such a beautiful bar in Los Feliz. The decor and structure of the bar is amazing. I wanna go back more often especially since I have a friend from school that works there.

OMG, I just found out from my mom that my sister Tiffany, who's a twin, is having twins!@!! =)

KU Daze!

OMG (Oh my goodness)! It's been two weekends ago now that my college roommate from the University of Kansas came out to visit Los Angeles. He didn't come out to visit me per say but we hungout everyday that him and his friend were in town. We first hungout on Thursday after I got done with my eye doctor appointment where I ordered a pair of Tom Ford glasses that I still haven't paid for, who knows when I'll get them totally paid off! Woops. So I met them at the Abbey where they were having lunch...a liquid lunch! ;) Then I took them to Fiesta Cantina for buy one get one drinks where we ended up meeting Mr. Slovakia 2010. I called it a day cause I wasn't dressed for going out. The next two nights we met up at Mickey's. I pumped into when of my good dear old friends so I got to catch up with him and we're both doing really well. A friend of a friend wanted me to home with him so he could, "Tuck me in!" but I said no because I wanted to stay and hangout with my old roommate. I then met a beautiful guy named Shawn who still hasn't called! =( Probably cause I saw him kissing another guy later....oh well! ;) The next night I wanted to bump into Shawn again but I didn't see him. I don't drink anymore so there was a point where my old roommate got kicked out of Mickey's for being to drunk and he didn't want to go back to his hotel. I wanted to walk them back there but he told me I should go home instead. I'm sober and didn't get kiced out of a bar, so no body has any reason for telling me what to do. So instead I stayed at Mickey's for a little longer and had a good time. Then, when I was ready....I went home. Saturday nights at 2am Mickey's becomes 18+ so I'll have to take my girlfriend Rebecca there one night when we go out for dancing! Take care everyone....G

A trip to IKEA

Oy, what a trip! The trip being the interaction between Jen and her mom. From what I'm learning in school Jen doesn't have a healthy mirror! I needed to go to Ikea really bad cause I wanted to get some stuff for my apartment before I had a maid named Ruby come over and clean my apartment yesterday. I've always wanted a maid so I finally found one as I was walking home the other day and saw a sign on the outside saying "loft" cleaning, which made me laugh!!! S

So I met up with them at a Starbucks where just ordering something became an event and her mom was gonna make sure she would pay her back! Then we got on the highway and I didn't know that they didn't know how to get there and neither did I. All I knew was that you can see it from a highway so I thought we were on the right one. (I don't drive out here so I'm a total big city boy who doesn't know about anything unless it's in LA!). We finally got there after that "event" and then parking became an "event" too! Oh my! Once inside I knew where to go and what I wanted so it shouldn't have taken long except the ladies needed to use the restroom. The only thing about that is that the store is a maze and crazy to find your way around. After we all found each other I had missed something bad so it was too bad that I still needed to get a few things. One thing was upstairs and the other was the bookcase that I really went there to get. Long story short we checked out and then I got swedish meatballs after getting the bookcase in the car. Then we were on our way to find somewhere to eat cause I wanted to save the swedish meatballs for later that night. Jen's mom said, "There's Taco Bell!" totally as a joke but I never go there but love it. I don't care how bad it is cause for now I don't really need to worry about calories and health so very rarelly I go there. Finally we were on our way back home and no matter what on highway's I know how to get back downtown.....don't ask me how but I do. Got everything in the apartment and have been the "handyman" around the apartment ever since. I love how it all looks....even better then I had thought in my mind. And thanks to Ruby, my apartment is now clean even though she couldn't get the whole stain off the toilet or the bathtub!!! =0

P.S. I'll add some pics of my apartment later. Right now just glad I blogged again! Enjoy ;)

I'm GLAAD!

Oy! What a day that was on Sunday. At first I was so tired but I was supposed to volunteer that night at the GLAAD Awards. So, I emailed the volunteer coordinator that I wasn't feeling well and didn't think I'd be up to it and that I was sorry to not be able to volunteer that night. After I sent that email I feel back to sleep and when I woke up I felt bad and then thought about the fabulous gift bags that we usually get so after a while of going back and forth about whether I would go or not, I decided I would. Basically got all "dolled" up and caught a bus to Century City from Downtown....that's at least an hour bus ride probably more. Well, I got The Century City Plaza Hotel only to find out that it wasn't being held at the same place it was held last year! Ugh!!! So, I had to call my friend James and ask him to Google the GLAAD Awards and tell the hotel where it was being held. Guess what, it was at the Westin Bonaventure which is in, yep....Downtown LA!@ Only a mile or less from my place on the southeast side of Downtown and the hotel is the northwest part. Oy!!! But, it was totally worth it and got myself 3 giftbags plus 2 for Tyler, my bestfriend. Another great part was I got to reconnect with Lana....luv u! ;)

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to a Kings Game

I recently went to a King's game at Staples Center because after their game against the Anaheim Duck's the gay hockey team in LA got to scrimmage another local team. Yes, gay men play hockey too! And in LA, where anything goes the L.A. Blades have been playing since 1985. The funny thing was that I had a date but he had to cancel because of work. So, I brought the next best thing. My friend Jen, who I went to SF with. It was perfect cause then I could check out the players and the rest of the people there to support the Blades. Even funnier, I found out today the guy that cancelled is dating someone. Isn't that great! LOL I got cancelled on and he starts dating another guy. Well, there is some good news. I met a guy from match.com at the gym. I'm not a member of match.com cause I think it's to expensive and don't really like online dating.

P.S. Thanks for the readers that enjoyed my recent posts! In the extra picture I included is my supervisor from work showing off a Marc by Marc Jacobs bag I got as a birthday present from my girlfriend Sarah after I got back from SF. Thanks Sarah! =)

FashionWeekLA

Ok, wait, LA has a fashion week?? Well, obviously Adam Lambert knew it was since him and his friends were right beside Jen and I at the closing party featuring Bebe Spring 2011. Jen and I were gonna go Friday night to Fashion Minga at Boulevard3 but she wasn't feeling well and I didn't wanna go alone. Steven's idea was to go alone but then I'd feel like "Baby in the corner," listening to other peoples conversations and wanting to meet people but being too shy. I'm kinda bummed I didn't go cause I was planning on wearing this fur collar choaker that I made from the fur hood lining I took off a Gap parka. I added a pic of this one thing that I have that I think I can call Avante Garde!! =) Lately though, I have had more courage to approach guys but I just didn't feel like going. Later that night at almost 4am I got a drunk text butty call from my f*#@buddy but I didn't read it tell 9am cause I was asleep...duh! LOL It's weird cause Friday he said that he couldn't this weekend. Funny how things change when someone gets drunk. ;)
P.S. I'm confused, is it FashionWeekLA or LA Fashion Week?? Oh well!

Recap of San Fran trip #2

About a month after my friend Steven got lipo in SF, my girlfriend Jen planned to visit the city. Were both skaters and she was visiting SF cause she says she's done with LA so I decided to visit with her because I needed another trip to determine if I liked SF. After the first trip while Steven had lipo I hated the city cause it seemed that everyone was crazy...and I mean "crazy."
So the first night I spent catching Steven up on Glee, Season 2 while Jen had a date with a guy no one has talked to or heard from since we flew back!
The next day after Steven went to work and I slept in I met Jen after an interview she had and then the two of them got to meet each other when we met Steven after work at Toad Hall. B4 we met Steven, we had dinner at Harvey's Cafe which had the worst service ever and the young twink just made me upset and pissed. I hate younger skinny stupid boys that older men think are cute and adorable. Toad Hall has got to my one of my favorite bars because they have the best Happy Hour in the Castro, or maybe even the city. Jen got to meet two more of Steven's friends Justin and Marcus and of course she became fast friends with both. She's really excited she met them so she'll have friends already when she moved there later this spring or summer. I loved their Happy Hour cause I got not one but two Cosmo's in a glass which I love so it's not so easy to spill! The funniest thing that happened at Toad Hall was when Jen used her hand sanitzer to clean of the toilet seat and then discovered there was no toilet paper....LOL
We called it an early night and after a morning of Steven going to work and me sleeping in and getting ready very slowly I finally met up with Jen an hour late at Kuleto's Trattoria. This ended up being my favorite place we ate and one of the best restaurants I've ever ate at. The waitor was amazing and did everything Jen asked of him such as making her own kind of entree! After an hour or two of having lunch and a few courses I met up with Steven at 411 and Jen went to take a nap at her hotel. 411 is an ugly man bear bar in the Castro, so after one round of Tequila and a Cosmo for me and a beer for Steven he was hungry so we went next door for sushi and sake. This whole time Jen was texting me to find out where we were instead of just hoping a Muni to Castro. We had Muni Passes but oh well! After sushi, Steven and I went to The Mix. As we walked in, Katty Perry's song Firework was playing. Everytime I hear that song I make it look like I have things coming out of my nipples! In the restroom Steven asked a man, "Do you ever feel like a plastic bag, floating through the wind?" Later we found out his name was Leaf but his answer was, "NO!" We met Leaf and his boyfriend. I really hope that they all remain friends cause their all very similar to Steven; the same humor and the same rudness! We decided to met Jen at Rebel so we caught a cab. Little did we know what a strange but fun cab ride it would be. As he started to drive music came on and he began singing a song about his sister who had to much testosterone and a mustache, it was hilarious!!! He even tried to sell us his CD, DVD and DVD of our ride in the cab....um, no thank you! Once at Rebel, Steven and I saw that this was not the same kind of Rebel in LA and Jen of course still wasn't there so Steven decided he was gonna go get some groceries and go home!! I'm still pissed at him for that. With Steven gone but Jen with us we returned to The Mix where I countinued to drink Cosmo's with Wild Tea Absolut. When we closed the patio, we ate at a cute diner. Many pictures were taken that night. The one that Jen said she had to have was me pushing the button to use one of the public bathrooms that are all over the city and on Market St.
The next morning was me sleeping in after Steven left. I packed and got ready over the course of 3 hours. I learned after this weekend I can run extremely late sometimes! I met her at her hotel and caught a $20 cab to the airport....very cheap!! Jen wasn't a Virgin after that weekend flying with Virgin America two times!Well, after this second trip I still think there's more crazy people in SF then there are in LA but I do like the city more then I used to! Jen and I got to take a cable car from The Buena Vista Cafe to Union Square which was really nice except an asshole made us throw away our Starbucks b4 we got on the cable car! =(
The architecture is really beautiful and reminds me of Europe, even though I've never been there! I'll diffentely be back for more trips.

Wallets!

Well, after my trip last weekend up to see Steven in SF he gave me a birthday present. He said it was time I had a real Louis Vuitton wallet. That was so sweet and I slowly put everything from my fake Louis into the new one and threw away my really OLD fake Louis. 5 days later, I was kinda rushing to get to a f-buddies place. I got off the bus, headed across the street to get some gum. Was gonna pay for the gum.....and smokes and noticed I didn't have my wallet, oh damn! I left a $600 Louis on the bus, with my favorite state ID picture which is the only thing that will take the longest to replace. Hope I don't get carded if I do go out and no more Tigerheat for a while. =(

But, on a good note, a girlfriend from work gave me a Marc by Marc Jabobs for my birthday. So, I decided to go get a wallet I saw on his website a little while ago. I will always double check the seat I get up from and always make sure I have my bag and wallet before I get off a bus again! Sad thing is, I had been doing that recently but didn't that night cause I almost missed the bus stop I needed and in that rush I must not have put the new Louis wallet in my new bag. Ah well!

"A" Student

Last semester I got str8t A's after I had a teacher fix my grade. It was recorded as the same grade she gave me the semester b4 so I thought she may have confused my grade with the previous semester. When I brought it to her attention she knew at once that I had gotten an A, so she fixed it the next day!~

This semester my goal is to get all A's again. And so far, that's happening. I've been getting A's on online open book quizes and last Wednesday right before I left for a weekend in San Francisco I got an A on a big test in Psychopharmacology. The class title alone I think explains how difficult this class will be for me this semester!~

Online Dating??

It seems so old fashioned to me now. Chatting and flirting with someone you think is hot from a site and then meeting for coffee. It felt so weird and acquired but as always I did the best I could. But the amount of times I've told my story about coming to LA lately I sware I need to write and finish that book!! Oy
