Well...I do sometimes. So, on Friday night I decided that I wanted to go to Mickey's to dance (and bump into men that haven't called me back!). I didn't want to go alone though so I posted on facebook that I was gonna go to Mickey's to dance and told my friend Jen that we should go dancing. We both don't have cars so long story short we decided to go to the Edison. So glad we did cause it was so fun! We heard there was going to be a DJ and dancing so it fit what we needed and closer then Weho to both of us. The Edison (www.edisondowntown.com) is the most beautiful sophisticated bar I have ever been to, seriously. It's styled like an old speakeasy but I don't know if speakeasy's were that big!?! Jen got a two dirty martini's and said that it was well priced and not expensive like I was assuming it would be. It was awesome and to add excitement to the story as we were going down the staircase a guy stopped me and was like, "Hey Marshall...Marshall.....Marshall!" I said, "No, my name's Galen!" ;) And then later as Jen and I were hanging out at the bar after she got her second dirty martini I was dancing and spun around and when I finished there was this guy a little bit away from us at the bar too and he was pointing to this guy infront of him and trying to look like he didn't the guy to know he was pointing at him. From then on the rest of the night I wanted just to go up to them and in a nice humorious way ask, "what was that" or "what did that mean." It could have been just a st8t guy joke. The men at the bar were...."very nice" as Borack would say! Lots of them were in shiny grey suits (yum) or looked like blond frat boys! ;) "Very, very nice!" LOL The Edison had come highly recommended by my hairstylist and good gym buddy Mark...SO glad I finally went there and Jen and I well be back hopefully sooner then later so I won't call myself boring! Boring I am not cause I've had the dancing bug all weekend so last night I wanted to go to another dance in Burbank at the Marriott. I don't drive and don't have a lot of friends that have cars so after I took a nap after work I got up and got ready and found a bus that would take me there. The dance started at 11:30 and I got to the stop at 11. The flyer said, "11:30 to ...." so I figured 2ish when the bars close. Boy was I wrong. I got to the hotel at 1 when the dance ended. Asked for some help from the concierge and then walked in a huge square till 2:30 and then sat at the original bus stop until 5:41....when the firstsame bus would make it's first return trip so I could get home and go to bed! Who says I'm boring?!! I had a great time though after being extrememly pissed. I was given an Los Angeles tourist guide called Where Los Angeles. I read it from cover to cover and reminded of why I love living in LA even though I haven't been to mostly all the places it recommmended but that's why I love living here so that eventually I will! It was a lot of good time spent alone by myself and hope that taking some Television classes this fall at LACC will lead me to what "I" really want to do during my life. The good thing about last night is that I eventually decided to quit being pissed off and remain happy through all of what happened. And no matter the crazy story I have of how I came to be living in LA, I'm glad I'm here cause I don't know of anywhere that could compare as much as my (current) hometown of Los Angeles.
P.S. looks like a bus had some bad timing this morning like I had last night. And my cousin's husband said I should try clicking my heels three times and well you know the rest! An hour later...I was home! =) Their my favorite shoes that have a huge hole on the sole of my right foot! (Just like Harvey Milk).
