About a month after my friend Steven got lipo in SF, my girlfriend Jen planned to visit the city. Were both skaters and she was visiting SF cause she says she's done with LA so I decided to visit with her because I needed another trip to determine if I liked SF. After the first trip while Steven had lipo I hated the city cause it seemed that everyone was crazy...and I mean "crazy."
So the first night I spent catching Steven up on Glee, Season 2 while Jen had a date with a guy no one has talked to or heard from since we flew back!
The next day after Steven went to work and I slept in I met Jen after an interview she had and then the two of them got to meet each other when we met Steven after work at Toad Hall. B4 we met Steven, we had dinner at Harvey's Cafe which had the worst service ever and the young twink just made me upset and pissed. I hate younger skinny stupid boys that older men think are cute and adorable. Toad Hall has got to my one of my favorite bars because they have the best Happy Hour in the Castro, or maybe even the city. Jen got to meet two more of Steven's friends Justin and Marcus and of course she became fast friends with both. She's really excited she met them so she'll have friends already when she moved there later this spring or summer. I loved their Happy Hour cause I got not one but two Cosmo's in a glass which I love so it's not so easy to spill! The funniest thing that happened at Toad Hall was when Jen used her hand sanitzer to clean of the toilet seat and then discovered there was no toilet paper....LOL
We called it an early night and after a morning of Steven going to work and me sleeping in and getting ready very slowly I finally met up with Jen an hour late at Kuleto's Trattoria. This ended up being my favorite place we ate and one of the best restaurants I've ever ate at. The waitor was amazing and did everything Jen asked of him such as making her own kind of entree! After an hour or two of having lunch and a few courses I met up with Steven at 411 and Jen went to take a nap at her hotel. 411 is an ugly man bear bar in the Castro, so after one round of Tequila and a Cosmo for me and a beer for Steven he was hungry so we went next door for sushi and sake. This whole time Jen was texting me to find out where we were instead of just hoping a Muni to Castro. We had Muni Passes but oh well! After sushi, Steven and I went to The Mix. As we walked in, Katty Perry's song Firework was playing. Everytime I hear that song I make it look like I have things coming out of my nipples! In the restroom Steven asked a man, "Do you ever feel like a plastic bag, floating through the wind?" Later we found out his name was Leaf but his answer was, "NO!" We met Leaf and his boyfriend. I really hope that they all remain friends cause their all very similar to Steven; the same humor and the same rudness! We decided to met Jen at Rebel so we caught a cab. Little did we know what a strange but fun cab ride it would be. As he started to drive music came on and he began singing a song about his sister who had to much testosterone and a mustache, it was hilarious!!! He even tried to sell us his CD, DVD and DVD of our ride in the cab....um, no thank you! Once at Rebel, Steven and I saw that this was not the same kind of Rebel in LA and Jen of course still wasn't there so Steven decided he was gonna go get some groceries and go home!! I'm still pissed at him for that. With Steven gone but Jen with us we returned to The Mix where I countinued to drink Cosmo's with Wild Tea Absolut. When we closed the patio, we ate at a cute diner. Many pictures were taken that night. The one that Jen said she had to have was me pushing the button to use one of the public bathrooms that are all over the city and on Market St.
The next morning was me sleeping in after Steven left. I packed and got ready over the course of 3 hours. I learned after this weekend I can run extremely late sometimes! I met her at her hotel and caught a $20 cab to the airport....very cheap!! Jen wasn't a Virgin after that weekend flying with Virgin America two times!Well, after this second trip I still think there's more crazy people in SF then there are in LA but I do like the city more then I used to! Jen and I got to take a cable car from The Buena Vista Cafe to Union Square which was really nice except an asshole made us throw away our Starbucks b4 we got on the cable car! =(
The architecture is really beautiful and reminds me of Europe, even though I've never been there! I'll diffentely be back for more trips.
